How to Make Coconut Bread Rolls: A Simple Guide

Coconut bread rolls are soft, fluffy, and fragrant, perfect for breakfast or snacks. Here’s an easy recipe to make them at home.

Ingredients:

- 300g all-purpose flour

- 30g sugar

- 2.5g salt

- 3g instant yeast

- 1 egg

- 120ml warm milk

- 30g unsalted butter (softened)

- 50g coconut flakes (for coating)

- Extra milk or egg wash (for brushing)

Steps:

1. Prepare the dough: Mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a bowl. Whisk in the egg and warm milk until combined. Knead for 10 minutes until smooth, then add softened butter and knead until elastic.

2. First rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size.

3. Shape the rolls: Punch down the dough and divide it into 8–10 equal pieces. Roll each into a ball, then flatten slightly. Brush with milk, dip into coconut flakes, and place them on a baking sheet.

4. Second rise: Cover and let rise for 30 minutes until puffy.

5. Bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Brush the rolls with more milk, then bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.

Tips: For extra flavor, add 1 tsp vanilla extract to the dough. Enjoy warm or store in an airtight container for up to 3 days!
