How to Make Stir-Fried Broccoli: A Simple Guide

Stir-fried broccoli is a quick, healthy, and versatile dish that complements any meal. Here’s a simple guide to perfecting it.

First, prepare the broccoli: Wash 500g of fresh broccoli and cut it into bite-sized florets. Peel the stem and slice it thinly—don’t waste it, as the stem is tender and nutritious. Blanch the florets in boiling salted water for 2–3 minutes until bright green, then drain and rinse under cold water to stop cooking. This ensures a crisp-tender texture.

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 2 minced garlic cloves and a pinch of ginger (optional), stir-frying for 10 seconds until fragrant. Toss in the broccoli, stirring to coat evenly. Season with 1 teaspoon of soy sauce, a pinch of salt, and a dash of sesame oil for flavor. For extra color, sprinkle in a teaspoon of rice vinegar or a pinch of sugar to balance the taste.

Cook for 1–2 minutes, tossing occasionally, until the broccoli is heated through but still crisp. Serve hot as a side dish or with rice.

This basic recipe can be customized—add sliced carrots, bell peppers, or chili flakes for variety. Enjoy this nutritious and delicious dish in under 15 minutes!
