How to Make Pork Dumplings: A Complete Guide

Pork dumplings, a beloved comfort food worldwide, are deliciously versatile and fun to make. Follow this simple guide to create perfect dumplings at home.

Ingredients: For the filling, you’ll need 300g ground pork, 2 chopped cabbage, 1 shredded carrot, 2 minced garlic, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sesame oil, salt, and pepper. For the wrapper, use 300g all-purpose flour mixed with 150ml warm water (knead into a smooth dough, rest for 30 mins).

Steps:

1. Prepare filling: Mix pork, cabbage, carrot, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.

2. Make wrappers: Roll the dough into a log, cut into small pieces, and flatten each into a thin round wrapper (about 8cm diameter).

3. Fill and fold: Place 1 tbsp filling in the center. Fold the wrapper in half, pinch the edges to seal, and create pleats for a classic shape. Ensure no filling leaks out.

4. Cook: Boil water, add dumplings, and cook for 5-7 minutes until they float. For a crispier texture, pan-fry them in oil until golden brown on both sides after boiling.

Serve hot with soy-vinegar dipping sauce. Enjoy these savory delights with family and friends!
