How to Make Crispy Fried Peanuts: A Simple Guide

Fried peanuts are a beloved snack, loved for their crunchy texture and rich flavor. Here’s a basic yet delicious method to make them at home.

Ingredients: Raw peanuts (200g), salt (1 tbsp), water (enough to cover peanuts), and optional spices like chili powder or Sichuan peppercorn for extra kick.

Steps:

1. Soak the Peanuts: Rinse raw peanuts, then soak them in warm water for 30 minutes. This removes any dust and ensures even cooking. Drain thoroughly afterward.

2. Boil for Crispiness: Transfer peanuts to a pot, add enough water to cover, and boil for 5–7 minutes until slightly tender. Drain and pat dry with a paper towel—this step is key to avoiding oily results.

3. Fry to Perfection: Heat oil in a wok or deep pan over medium heat (170–180°C). Add dried peanuts and stir-fry for 3–5 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Adjust heat to prevent burning.

4. Season and Cool: Turn off the heat, sprinkle with salt (and spices if using), and toss quickly. Spread peanuts on a wire rack to cool completely—they will get crunchier as they cool.

Tips: Use raw, unroasted peanuts for best results. For a spicier version, add cumin powder or garlic powder during the last minute of frying. Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.

Enjoy this easy, addictive snack with drinks or as a party treat!
