How to Cook Mushrooms and Broccoli: A Simple Guide

Mushrooms and broccoli are a nutritious and delicious duo, easy to prepare in various ways. Here’s a quick guide to three popular methods.

Stir-Fry (Quick & Flavorful): Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok over high heat. Sliced garlic and ginger until fragrant, then add mushrooms (shiitake or cremini work well). Stir-fry for 3 minutes until mushrooms soften. Toss in broccoli florets and stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until crisp-tender. Add 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp oyster sauce, and a pinch of sugar. Mix well, garnish with sesame seeds, and serve hot.

Roasted (Earthy & Tender): Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Toss 200g broccoli florets and 150g sliced mushrooms with 2 tbsp olive oil, 1 tsp garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Spread on a baking sheet and roast for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until edges are golden. Drizzle with lemon juice before serving.

Steamed with Garlic Sauce (Light & Healthy): Steam broccoli and mushrooms separately for 5-7 minutes until tender. For the sauce, whisk together 3 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp vinegar, 1 tsp sesame oil, and minced garlic. Pour over the vegetables and top with chopped green onions.

These methods offer versatility—whether you prefer a spicy stir-fry, roasted depth, or a light steamed dish. Enjoy this healthy combo as a side or main course!
