How to Make Creamy Milk Bread: A Simple Guide

Creamy milk bread, known for its soft, fluffy texture and rich buttery flavor, is a beloved staple in many households. Here’s a straightforward recipe to achieve bakery-quality results at home.

Ingredients:

- 500g high-gluten flour

- 80g sugar

- 10g salt

- 15g active dry yeast

- 250ml warm milk (35°C)

- 50g unsalted butter, softened

- 2 large eggs

Steps:

1. Activate yeast: Dissolve yeast and 1 tsp sugar in warm milk; let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

2. Mix dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add yeast mixture and eggs; knead until a shaggy dough forms.

3. Add butter: Gradually incorporate softened butter, kneading for 15–20 minutes until smooth and elastic.

4. First rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.

5. Shape: Punch down dough, divide into equal portions, and roll each into a ball. Place in a greased loaf pan.

6. Second rise: Cover and let rise for another 40–50 minutes, until the dough reaches the pan’s rim.

7. Bake: Preheat oven to 180°C. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden. Brush with melted butter immediately after baking for extra gloss.

Tips: For a sweeter version, add vanilla extract. Enjoy plain or topped with fresh fruits and jam! This versatile bread stays soft for days and makes the perfect breakfast or snack.
