How to Make Honey Twists: A Complete Guide

Honey twists, a beloved crispy and sweet snack, are surprisingly easy to make at home. Here’s a simple recipe to guide you.

Ingredients: You’ll need 300g all-purpose flour, 50g sugar, 1 tsp baking powder, 2 eggs, 100ml warm milk, 50g melted butter, and honey for coating. Oil for frying is also essential.

Steps:

1. Prepare the dough: Mix flour, sugar, and baking powder in a bowl. Beat eggs, then add warm milk and melted butter. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ones, kneading into a smooth dough. Let it rest for 30 minutes.

2. Shape the twists: Roll the dough into a 1cm-thick sheet. Cut it into long, thin strips (about 2cm wide). Take two strips, twist them together tightly, and pinch the ends. Repeat for all dough.

3. Fry and coat: Heat oil to 170°C. Fry twists for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, turning occasionally. Remove and drain excess oil. Immediately dip each twist into warm honey, coating evenly. Place on a wire rack to cool.

Tips: For extra crunch, fry the twists twice. Add sesame seeds or nuts to the dough for flavor. Store in an airtight container to keep them crisp.

Enjoy your homemade honey twists—the perfect blend of sweetness and crunch!
