How to Make Cake Pops: A Simple Guide

Cake pops are delightful bite-sized treats that combine cake and frosting in a lollipop form. Here’s a step-by-step guide to making them at home.

First, bake a cake of your choice (vanilla or chocolate works well) and let it cool completely. Crumble the cake into fine crumbs in a large bowl. Mix in 1/4 to 1/2 cup of frosting (depending on cake moisture) until the mixture holds together like dough. Roll into 1-inch balls and place them on a lined tray. Freeze for 15–20 minutes to firm up.

Melt candy melts or chocolate in the microwave (30-second intervals, stirring in between). Dip the tip of a lollipop stick into the melted chocolate, insert it halfway into a cake ball, and freeze again for 5 minutes. Then, fully dip the cake pop into the melted chocolate, tapping off excess. Decorate with sprinkles, nuts, or edible glitter while the chocolate is still wet.

Let them dry upright in a styrofoam block. Once set, wrap individually in cellophane bags for gifting. These customizable treats are perfect for parties, holidays, or a sweet snack!
