How to Cook Stir-Fried Pork with Water Bamboo

Stir-fried pork with water bamboo is a quick, delicious dish that balances tender meat, crisp vegetables, and savory flavors. Here’s a simple guide to making it at home.

Ingredients: 200g pork loin (sliced thin), 2 fresh water bamboo (peeled and sliced diagonally), 1 bell pepper (sliced), 2 cloves garlic (minced), 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp oyster sauce, 1/2 tsp sugar, 1 tbsp cooking oil, salt, and pepper to taste.

Steps:

1. Marinate the pork: In a bowl, mix pork slices with 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1/2 tsp cornstarch, a pinch of salt, and pepper. Let it sit for 15 minutes to tenderize.

2. Prep the vegetables: Blanch water bamboo slices in boiling water for 1 minute, then drain. Set aside.

3. Stir-fry: Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Add garlic and stir until fragrant. Toss in marinated pork and stir-fry until no longer pink (about 2-3 minutes).

4. Combine: Add blanched water bamboo and bell pepper. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes. Season with oyster sauce, sugar, and remaining soy sauce. Mix well.

5. Finish: Cook for 30 seconds until everything is heated through. Serve hot with steamed rice.

Tips: For extra flavor, add a dash of sesame oil before serving. Ensure water bamboo is not overcooked to keep its crunch. Enjoy this healthy, umami-rich dish in just 20 minutes!
