A Guide to Making Perfect Pasta

Pasta, a beloved dish worldwide, offers endless possibilities. Here’s a simple guide to mastering it.

First, boil water in a large pot—add a pinch of salt and a dash of oil to prevent sticking. When boiling, add pasta (spaghetti, penne, or fusilli work well) and cook according to package instructions, usually 8-12 minutes, until al dente (tender but firm). Drain, reserving a cup of pasta water for later use.

For a classic tomato sauce, sauté minced garlic and onions in olive oil until fragrant. Add canned tomatoes, herbs like basil or oregano, and simmer for 15 minutes. Toss with pasta, adding reserved water to adjust consistency.

Creamy sauces are equally easy: melt butter, whisk in heavy cream, and grate in Parmesan cheese. Season with salt, pepper, and a hint of nutmeg.

For a twist, try baked pasta: mix pasta with ricotta, mozzarella, and marinara, then top with breadcrumbs and bake at 180°C until golden.

Garnish with fresh herbs, a drizzle of olive oil, or grated cheese. Experiment with vegetables, meats, or seafood to create your perfect bowl!
