How to Make Black Sesame Toast: A Simple Guide

Black sesame toast, with its nutty aroma and soft texture, is a delightful treat for breakfast or snacks. Here’s an easy recipe to guide you.

Ingredients:

- 300g bread flour

- 30g black sesame paste (or ground black sesame seeds)

- 30g sugar, 3g salt, 1 egg

- 180ml milk, 30g butter (softened), 2.5g yeast

Steps:

1. Prepare the dough: Dissolve yeast in warm milk. Mix flour, sugar, salt, and black sesame paste in a bowl. Add the egg and yeast mixture, knead into a smooth dough. Add softened butter and knead until elastic (about 15-20 minutes).

2. First rise: Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).

3. Shape: Punch down the dough, divide into two equal parts, and roll each into a rectangle. Roll tightly like a swiss roll and place in a greased loaf pan.

4. Second rise: Cover and let it rise again until the dough fills the pan (about 40 minutes).

5. Bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C. Brush the top with milk or egg wash. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Tap the bottom—if it sounds hollow, it’s done. Cool completely before slicing.

Tips: For extra flavor, sprinkle black sesame seeds on top before baking. Enjoy it plain with butter or jam! This toast stays fresh for 2-3 days in an airtight container.
