Chocolate Cupcakes: A Simple Recipe Guide

Chocolate cupcakes are a beloved treat, perfect for any occasion. Here’s a straightforward recipe to create moist, decadent delights.

Ingredients:

- 1½ cups all-purpose flour

- 1 cup granulated sugar

- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1 tsp baking soda

- ½ tsp salt

- 1 large egg

- ½ cup milk (dairy or plant-based)

- ¼ cup vegetable oil

- ¼ cup boiling water

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat the egg, then add milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix well.

4. Combine & Pour: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ones. Stir until just combined. Carefully add boiling water (the batter will be thin—this is normal!).

5. Bake: Fill each liner ⅔ full with batter. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.

Frosting Tip: For a classic touch, top with chocolate buttercream (beat ½ cup softened butter, 2 cups powdered sugar, ¼ cup cocoa powder, and 2 tbsp milk until fluffy).

Enjoy your homemade chocolate cupcakes—simple, delicious, and endlessly customizable!
