How to Make Delicious Curry Beef: A Step-by-Step Guide

Curry beef is a globally loved dish, celebrated for its rich, aromatic flavors and tender meat. Here’s a simple yet authentic recipe to guide you.

Ingredients: 500g beef (chuck or stewing meat, cubed), 2 tbsp curry powder (or paste), 1 onion (chopped), 3 garlic cloves (minced), 1 tbsp ginger (grated), 1 potato (diced), 1 carrot (sliced), 400ml coconut milk, 2 tbsp cooking oil, salt, and pepper to taste.

Steps:

1. Marinate the beef: Toss beef cubes with 1 tbsp curry powder, salt, and pepper. Let it sit for 20 minutes.

2. Sauté aromatics: Heat oil in a pot over medium heat. Sauté onions, garlic, and ginger until fragrant (3-4 minutes).

3. Brown the beef: Add marinated beef and cook until browned on all sides.

4. Simmer: Pour in coconut milk, add potatoes and carrots. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1.5–2 hours until beef is tender.

5. Thicken the sauce: If using curry powder, mix 1 tbsp with water to form a paste, stir into the pot, and simmer for 5 more minutes. For curry paste, skip this step.

6. Adjust seasoning: Add salt or curry powder to taste. Serve hot with rice, naan, or bread.

Tips: For extra depth, add a pinch of garam masala or a bay leaf while simmering. Enjoy your homemade curry beef!
